During a recent competition, Johanson delivered a strong performance. After scoring, the team’s official X account posted a short video celebrating her high score with the caption: “That’s a 9.875 for Johanson!”
But viewers quickly noticed something else. The camera angle focused in a way that drew attention below her waist and the internet, predictably, had a field day.

Social media users didn’t hold back.“They forgot the camel 🐪,” one fan commented.“It’s looking at me,” another wrote, sharing a zoomed-in screenshot.

“My Johanson is standing straight up after this one,” a third person joked.“Vice grip,” another stated.“Nice moose knuckle,” one final person added.

The comments kept coming. The video went viral. And eventually, Penn State’s gymnastics team deleted the post.

What makes the deletion confusing is that the team had posted the exact same video a month earlier and left it up.

Johanson isn’t the first athlete to gain attention for her body rather than her skills. But the situation highlights the uncomfortable reality female athletes face

As of this writing, Johanson has racked up over 14,000 followers on Instagram. There’s no way to know how many came after the video went viral.

Jessica Johanson scored a 9.875. That’s an incredible achievement.
