In a shocking development, the Las Vegas Raiders announced Tuesday that the “Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at the time.”
The news quickly sent shockwaves across the NFL. Crosby had widely been expected to land in Baltimore once the new league year officially began on Wednesday.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported Crosby did not pass his physical on Tuesday. That means the Ravens will receive their draft picks back, as the trade no longer goes through.
Crosby, 28, had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in January. While he was expected to be ready for training camp, the Ravens’ medical staff apparently had concerns about the long-term viability of the knee.

This is unfortunate news for Maxx Crosby, as he was reportedly giddy to play for a winning franchise for the first time in his career. The star pass rusher has spent his entire seven-year career with the Raiders.

The sudden twist could reopen the door for other teams around the league that had previously been linked to Crosby, including the Cowboys.

One failed physical. Two first-round picks returned. And a star player suddenly back where he started.
