Since Donald Trump returned to office 14 months ago, there has been ongoing speculation that the popular sports media personality will run for president in 2028. Last week.
Though he’s made his living with ESPN, Smith has branched out to become a prominent voice in political discussions. He frequently talks about American politics on his SiriusXM Radio program, “Straight Shooter.”

“What the fck is wrong with y’all? This is some straight bullsht! It’s gotta stop. This is not what America is supposed to be about. We, as American citizens, are not supposed to be treated this way.

“Do you know why it’s easy to get at the President of the United States right now, to point the finger of blame at him? Because he is fing up, that’s why…Somebody has to say it…

Smith noted that he’s an independent voter and said he “can’t stand” any of the politicians. Finally, he challenged Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to grow “a spine” .

As Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump showed, it’s easy to run for president if you’re a celebrity with a giant following. And Smith has millions of followers on social media and viewers/listeners on his TV/radio programs.

If Smith were to run, he would definitely win some votes. He’s got the energy, passion and strong delivery. Basically, he knows how to talk like a typical politician.

Smith may have already ruled out running in 2028. But after signing a nine-figure extension with ESPN last year, who’s to say he may not run in 2032 if his bank account continues to grow significantly?

Stephen A. Smith is known for his passionate rants about basketball. But when it comes to politics, he’s just as fiery and his latest tirade against President Trump was one for the books.

Whether he runs for office someday or not, one thing is clear: Stephen A. isn’t afraid to say exactly what he thinks. And right now, he thinks the president is f***ing up.
