While Victor Wembanyama tried hard to make things happen for his team, a woman in the audience drew everyone’s attention. TikTok user ‘@inluvwganineee shared a video of the woman texting on her phone.
“A lot of crazy Hispanic fans. All Hispanic! How can they afford it,” read the lady’s cellphone screen.@inluvwganineee’s video had a text overlay that read.

Surely, this was one of the most eye-catching moments in the game. However, the TikTok user has now deleted the video. But by the time they took it down, the clip had garnered 1.4 million views.

As 65% of San Antonio’s 1.5 million population consists of Latinos, Wembanyama’s strong push for the MVP and DPOY awards, too, could not divert their attention. They took to social media to express their discontent.

As soon as the clip went viral, fans flocked to the comments section.“Need this generation to just pass there’s no way to save them lmao,” said a fan.

“I bet she’s a God fearing Christian lol,” said a third.“Just another Karen, doing ‘Karen things,'” quipped a fan.“what’s a celtics fan doing at a spurs game,” said this user.

“boomers using 40 size font on their phones so funny,” joked a fan.“If she’s racist, she’s no lady,” said a user.“She should be in the commercial with the boozer twins,” chimed a fan.

The Spurs won a nail-biter against the Suns. Victor Wembanyama had another MVP-caliber night. But the internet didn’t care.

In a city that’s 65% Latino, at a game celebrating one of the most diverse fan bases in the NBA, that text message said everything. The video went viral.
