The Canadian guard, who plays for the BYU Cougars, wasn’t widely known outside her conference. That changed this week after a short clip from her press conference sent social media into a frenzy.
Gibb helped lead BYU to a big win over Kansas in the WBIT Semifinal, pushing the Cougars to 4–0 in the tournament and securing their spot in the championship game.

Before that matchup, BYU players met with the media. Gibb stepped up to the podium and spoke about taking Sunday off, keeping perspective, and remembering that life is bigger than basketball.

Fans immediately flooded social platforms with reactions, many admitting they didn’t even know what she said they were simply mesmerized.

But Gibb’s growing fame isn’t just about her looks. She has a long list of impressive accomplishments. After transferring to Raymond High School, she led the team to three straight 4A Provincial Championships.

On the court, she continues to prove she’s more than worthy of the attention. In Monday’s win, Gibb played 39 tough minutes, scoring 12 points, grabbing seven rebounds.

Now, with her team on the verge of a championship and her name trending across social media, Delaney Gibb is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young stars in the country.
