If Kevin Durant’s burner account drama wasn’t enough, Alperen Sengun’s recent form is certainly adding to the tensions. The franchise had high expectations for the two-time NBA All-Star. But this year, it’s all fallen flat.
Lashing out at his underperformance, The Athletic’s Will Guillory pointed to the Turkish star’s inability to deliver consistently as a key factor in the team’s struggles.

“A major part of their shortcomings has been Sengun, their All-Star center, failing to consistently perform at an All-Star level,” Guillory said.
Adding to the woes further, the 6’11” star has landed himself on the injury report. Suffering from a back issue, Sengun is listed as ‘questionable’ against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The criticism hasn’t come only from Guillory. NBA legend Kendrick Perkins launched a brutal verbal attack on the Rockets’ star.

“He makes my f*cking skin crawl. He’s nowhere close to what I expected talent-wise. Offensively he has that but it’s a mindset bro!” Perkins said in an episode of the ‘RoadTrippinShow’ podcast.

Perkins also noted how Dylan Harper mentioned that the San Antonio Spurs ran an identical play 15 times to target the Turkish center’s vulnerability.

Alperen Sengun was supposed to be the anchor of Houston’s rise. Instead, he’s become a question mark.
