The Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman, now a three-time Super Bowl champion, nearly had his career overshadowed by an “escaped member” while running the 40-yard dash at the 2016 NFL Combine.
The story has resurfaced thanks to the “New Heights” podcast, where Jones joined Travis and Jason Kelce to recount the mortifying moment.
“I was so big on being different from everyone everybody was wearing the fing long tights and I was like, ‘You know what, I’m not going out there and copying everybody. I’m going to wear the short tights.'”
The problem? “I didn’t realize they was boxers, bro! Honest to God!”
As Jones exploded out of the blocks, his manhood made an unexpected appearance on national television. His instinctive reaction was to dive forward—not to finish the run strong, but to hide the malfunction.
“All of a sudden I felt it touch my leg and I’m like, ‘Oh st’,”** Jones recalled.Jason Kelce couldn’t resist a joke: “You tripped over that third leg.”
The brothers posted the clip this week with a hilarious caption: “Chris Jones is still the only player in NFL history to get a sack at the combine😂.”
Jason also suggested Jones was “blessed” to have his manhood fall out, adding: “I don’t think mine could ‘fall’ anywhere.”
Nine years later, he’s laughing about it with his teammates, holding three Lombardi trophies, and reminding everyone that even the most embarrassing moments can’t stop greatness.
