The Australian rapper became the subject of social media speculation after fans noticed she was following the Memphis Grizzlies star.
During Twitch streamer Neon’s recent stream, Azalea set the record straight with a hilariously candid explanation.

“For the record, I would just like to clear this up I do not know Ja Morant,” the rapper said. She then detailed exactly how the accidental follow happened:

“He just liked a picture of mine… I like to go on that at night when I’m like stoned as f*ck, okay and I went on and I saw sometimes I’ll like delete, keeping things like neat that makes sense.”

“I accidentally followed him, and I didn’t know till the next morning. Then, when I looked at my comments was saying. ‘Why are you following Ja Morant around?’ And I was like. Wait a minute what the f*ck, so I don’t know him.”

The rumor mill connecting celebrities to athletes is nothing new, but this case was particularly flimsy. There was no evidence of any interaction between the two just a follow button and an overactive internet.

Despite the breakup, they continue to co-parent their five-year-old daughter. Dixon recently shared a lighthearted parenting moment on Instagram, joking about the challenge of getting their daughter to pose for serious photos.

There have been no confirmed reports of a new relationship for Morant, and he has not indicated publicly that he is pursuing one.

Iggy Azalea got stoned, cleaned up her Instagram, and accidentally followed a basketball player. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

But in the age of social media, even a stray click becomes headline news. At least now we know the truth—and have a hilarious mental image of Azalea stoned, tidying up her social media at 2 a.m.
