Joy Taylor Fires Back at Jaden Ivey After His Anti-LGBTQ Remarks Spark NBA Controversy

April 4, 2026

Joy Taylor is not holding back. The former Fox Sports host has become the latest voice to publicly call out former Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey after his series of anti-LGBTQ comments sent shockwaves.

Ivey, a former top-five draft pick, was waived by the Bulls for “conduct detrimental to the team” shortly after posting a nearly hour-long Instagram rant filled with anti-gay remarks and criticism of the NBA’s support.

Ivey had just been traded to Chicago at the February deadline, but he appeared in only four games before being shut down with knee issues in late March.

In a clip shared on Instagram, Taylor mocked Ivey’s self-described Christian values with sharp sarcasm, referring to him as “Captain Christian” swooping in to “save everyone from the gays.”

Her point was simple: she believes there’s hypocrisy in the way some public figures preach morality while ignoring their own behavior.

Taylor went even further, highlighting one part of Ivey’s rant where he appeared to admit to past mistreatment of his wife. She questioned why people were overlooking that admission while focusing solely.

“Are we going to pretend he didn’t say he abused his wife? Are we ignoring that he’s judging other Christians?” she said, adding that there is always someone trying to claim they are “the best Christian” .

Her rant wasn’t about whether the Bulls were right or wrong to release him. Instead, it focused on what she sees as a deeper contradiction between Ivey’s words and actions.

As of now, it’s unclear whether any NBA team will take a chance on Ivey. But one thing is certain the conversation around him isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and voices like Joy Taylor’s are making sure of it.
