Brown’s desire to leave Philadelphia has been the NFL’s worst-kept secret, although the team insists it wants to keep him.
“It’s really hard to find great players,” Eagles GM Howie Roseman said last week, per The Athletic. “I think A.J. is a great player. I think from my perspective, we’re looking to improve in all areas, and you don’t do that by subtracting.”

“My expectation is he wants to be here,” head coach Nick Sirianni added. “You guys know me. I’m not gonna say, ‘Hey, here’s what I thought this player should have done.”

Dianna Russini reported on Friday morning that the Patriots “have poked around” but the Eagles are “holding firm on their steep asking price.”

FOX’s Anthony Gargano is now claiming that the AFC Champions offered a first-round pick and a third-round pick in exchange for Brown.

The Eagles’ asking price for Brown leaked a few days ago nothing less than a first-round pick, and even that wasn’t enough to guarantee a deal.

Other reports suggest frustration among NFL teams over the Eagles’ required haul. It’s probably going to take a one and a two to get them to budge.

The Patriots need a competent wideout after releasing Stefon Diggs. They’re willing to pay. They’re willing to deal.
