The woman, Princess Santiago, works as an event coordinator in Los Angeles. She claims Pierce is the father of her son, King, and wants a DNA test to prove it.
Santiago is asking for full custody of the child. She also wants Pierce to pay $100,000 for legal fees and cover about $18,846 for pregnancy and birth expenses.

Santiago based her request on Pierce’s career earnings. In court documents, she said the former Boston Celtics star made between $195 million and $203 million during his NBA career.

“This isn’t about drama or attention it’s about accountability and doing what’s right for my child,” Santiago said in an earlier statement.

Back in October, authorities charged him with driving under the influence after finding him asleep at the wheel during traffic on a California highway. Police said he showed signs of alcohol use.

Pierce built a Hall of Fame career and won an NBA title in 2008. He retired in 2017 and moved into media work. However, things have not gone smoothly.

Now, this legal case could bring more attention. The court will decide if Santiago’s claims are true and whether Pierce must take a DNA test.

Paul Pierce is a Hall of Famer. An NBA champion. A Finals MVP. But off the court, his life has been a mess. A DUI arrest. A media career that imploded.
