Social Media Detectives Think They’ve Identified Who’s Responsible for Condom Shortage at 2026 Olympic Village

Levito, 18, spoke to NBC before her women’s singles competition, expressing unbridled enthusiasm for her Olympic Village experience.

“I spend every night in the village,” she said. “It’s been everything and more, and you can’t evict me. I don’t think there’s anything not to enjoy. I haven’t even got to compete yet, and I feel like my experience is already complete. Not complete, but I’m having a blast. The best time.”

“Haha, that’s hilarious! Looks like someone’s been a little too enthusiastic at the Olympic village, no wonder the supplies are running low!” one fan commented.

“The sheer athletic energy in that place must be something else. I bet the organizing committee didn’t see that level of demand coming in their planning forecasts,” another added.

Levito is one of three American figure skaters alongside Amber Glenn and Alysa Liu competing in the women’s singles event. The trio has been dubbed the “Blade Angels” by fans.

The condom shortage itself is real, though its causes are likely more logistical than romantic. Only 10,000 of the planned 300,000 condoms made it to Italy.

Is Levito personally responsible for depleting the Olympic Village’s condom supply? Almost certainly not. But in the age of social media, facts are optional and jokes are mandatory.

Some athletes chase medals. Others, apparently, chase something else. And the internet will never let them forget it.
