Tiger Woods’ New Police Footage Reveals What He Desperately Wanted From His Car And a Surprise Masters Comment

April 4, 2026

Newly released police bodycam footage from Tiger Woods’ recent DUI arrest has sparked another wave of headlines not only for the arrest itself, but for what the golf legend urgently asked officers.

The incident happened last Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida, when Woods was involved in a rollover collision. Both drivers avoided serious injuries.

On Thursday, authorities released bodycam footage showing Woods struggling through a sobriety test before being placed in handcuffs.

While speaking with police, Woods repeatedly stressed that he needed to get one thing out of his vehicle his golf bag.

In the footage, Woods points out his iconic Scotty Cameron putter, reminding officers that he has “won 14 majors with it.” His longtime associate Rob McNamara is also heard explaining the importance of the club.

The clip then takes an unexpected turn. Despite his legal situation, Woods tells officers he still hopes to play in the 2026 Masters, saying he just needs “the sticks.”

Woods, now 50, was released on bail later that night. He has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge.
This is his second DUI arrest in Jupiter Island the first occurred in 2017.

Just days before the arrest footage was released, Woods announced a break from golf to focus on his health. As a result, he will miss the Masters for the second straight year.

The five-time Masters champion continues to recover from surgery on a torn Achilles tendon suffered last year.
