Tiger Woods’ latest DUI arrest has once again raised the same question many people have asked for years: Why doesn’t one of the world’s most famous athletes simply hire a private driver?
Woods, 50, was arrested after flipping his Range Rover during a high-speed attempt to overtake a truck on a quiet Jupiter Island road.

A source told PEOPLE that Woods refuses to hire a driver because he doesn’t want “anyone watching over him or knowing what he’s doing.” He prefers privacy, spending time at home with his kids.

His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump former daughter-in-law of Donald Trump is reportedly “mortified” by the arrest. Secret Service agents had already banned Woods from driving the president’s grandchildren.

This latest crash echoes Woods’ previous troubles behind the wheel. In 2017, he was found unconscious in his car with multiple drugs in his system.

After Friday’s crash, Woods refused a urine test and was arrested on DUI, property damage, and refusal to comply. He spent at least eight hours in jail before being released on bond.
Despite repeated warnings, close calls, and public concern, Woods continues to resist hiring a driver a decision that now has fans, friends, and even law enforcement questioning how long this pattern can continue.
