Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards gave fans another reminder of just how terrifying Victor Wembanyama has already become for opposing players around the league.
While discussing the challenge of attacking the San Antonio Spurs defense, Edwards admitted that driving into the paint against Wembanyama feels completely different because of the massive amount of space.

“They got somebody who 7-6 on the floor,” Edwards said while talking about Wembanyama. “He takes up a lot of space.”

Edwards then explained how difficult it becomes trying to create offense once Wembanyama is lurking near the basket.

The comments instantly went viral as NBA fans once again reacted to the unbelievable defensive impact Wembanyama is already having at such a young age.

At around 7-foot-4 with an absurd wingspan and elite mobility, the Spurs phenom has quickly become one of the most feared rim protectors in basketball.

Players constantly talk about how unusual it feels attacking the basket against him because he can seemingly recover from anywhere on the court in seconds.

Instead of attacking directly at the basket, many guards are now forced to kick the ball back out or completely rethink their drives once Wembanyama rotates into the paint.

Fans online loved Edwards’ brutally honest description.“One man defensive system,” one fan wrote.Another added, “Imagine being 7-6 and moving like a guard. That’s just unfair.”

Wembanyama continues proving why so many NBA legends already believe he could eventually become one of the greatest defensive players the league has ever seen.
