Milwaukee Bucks Owner Wes Edens Caught In Explosive $1.2 Billion Extortion Scandal After Alleged Secret Affair

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wes Edens has reportedly become the center of an explosive federal investigation involving an alleged secret affair, blackmail threats, and a staggering $1.2 billion extortion demand.
According to federal prosecutors, China-born Changli “Sophia” Luo has been charged with multiple offenses including extortion, blackmail, and destruction of records after allegedly attempting to pressure the billionaire.

Luo, 46, was arrested at JFK Airport in June 2025 while allegedly trying to board a flight to China. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently under home detention after posting a $500,000 bond.

The shocking allegations were first detailed in a report by The Wall Street Journal and have since sent shockwaves through both the sports and business worlds.

Federal court documents claim Edens first connected with Luo through LinkedIn back in 2022 after she reached out regarding her nonprofit organization, which reportedly focused on interviewing entrepreneurs

Court documents allege Luo threatened to release photos and videos of the encounter unless Edens paid her more than $1 billion.

She allegedly sent emotional messages and love letters to the Bucks owner, including one in which she reportedly wrote: “I do love you from the bottom of my heart.”

The investigation reportedly intensified in early 2025 after Edens’ legal team contacted federal prosecutors in Manhattan.

During a search of Luo’s Manhattan apartment, FBI agents allegedly discovered two hidden phones one inside a laundry basket and another concealed in a box of sanitary products.

Prosecutors claim one of the devices contained manipulated explicit content that allegedly placed Edens’ face onto another man’s body.
