Victor Wembanyama delivered another superstar moment as the San Antonio Spurs eliminated the Portland Trail Blazers with a dominant 114-95 win in Game 5.
The young phenom once again proved why he is one of the most feared defenders in basketball, finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks, and three assists in an all-around masterclass performance.

The biggest highlight of the night came late in the fourth quarter when Portland forward Deni Avdija attacked the rim looking for an easy layup. Instead, he was met by Wembanyama.

Cameras quickly showed Victor Wembanyama’s father sitting courtside, visibly stunned by what he had just witnessed.

The victory marked an important milestone for San Antonio, as the Spurs advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2017.

It also made Wembanyama’s first playoff run even more special, as he continues to lead the franchise back into championship contention.

After the game, Wembanyama reflected on the moment and the team’s progress. He said it felt like step one had been completed and that he was happy to see the organization moving in the right direction.

Earlier in the series, there were concerns after Wembanyama suffered a concussion in Game 2 and was forced to miss Game 3 under league protocol. However, he returned in Game 4 and has looked fully healthy ever since.

Now, the Spurs wait to face either the Minnesota Timberwolves or Denver Nuggets in the next round. If Wembanyama continues playing at this level, San Antonio may be far from finished this postseason.
