Counter Strike 2 Player Gets 10 Year Ban For Physically Assaulting Opponent On Stage After Losing

April 21, 2026

A shocking moment at a Counter-Strike 2 event has resulted in one of the harshest punishments seen in recent esports history, after a player physically assaulted his opponent on stage.

The incident took place during the CAGGTUS LAN festival in Leipzig, Germany, where Berlin-based player MAUSchine had just lost in the final. What should a routine post-match ceremony quickly turned into chaos.

As both teams gathered on stage for the trophy presentation, MAUSchine suddenly approached his opponent, Fabian “Spidergum” Salomon, and delivered a slap that stunned everyone in attendance.

The unexpected strike knocked Salomon’s glasses off and immediately shifted the mood from celebration to disbelief. Video footage of the incident spread rapidly across social media, drawing widespread criticism.

Even more surprising was MAUSchine’s apparent attempt to casually shake hands with an event organizer moments later, despite the seriousness of what had just occurred.

Tournament organizers acted swiftly. DACH, one of the primary organizers, issued a statement confirming that MAUSchine has been banned from competitions for at least 10 years.

The decision was supported by other organizers, including Fragster, effectively shutting the player out of major events across the region. The case has also been referred to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

Reports suggest the altercation may have been fueled by frustration, possibly linked to in-game taunts or celebrations. However, that explanation has done little to justify the behavior in the eyes of officials .

At 31 years old, MAUSchine now faces the very real possibility that his professional career is over. A 10-year ban in a fast-moving industry like esports is effectively a lifetime suspension
